What goes up, comes down … it is a natural law. Reciprocity is the same. If there is no exchange of energy, what is the message? It is no longer needed, not appreciated, not valued… so the tendency is to let go of the giving. As a mother, I had the experience of breastfeeding my babies. The more milk they drank the more my body produced, and then one day the opposite became true. It is nature’s natural response. The more I appreciate my plants, the more they grow… an exchange of energy. Appreciation is energy, growing is energy. Loving ourselves tells our bodies to flourish. We have all experienced the opposite … to be ignored, disregarded, forgotten, dismissed, it doesn’t feel good, does it? The natural thought that comes up is that whatever was given was not valued so why do it again? Next time you receive a complement, a gift, an answer, anything meaningful to you … express appreciation, reciprocate. Let the universe know, I want more of that.
